The BIG city:)

Yesterday, we left at 6 a.m. for the two hour commute to the Renascence Hotel in the core of Vancouver for a LONG day of National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS)
Summit meetings..
Under the $33-billion NSPS, which represents the largest procurement sourcing arrangement in Canadian history,
the Seaspan/Vancouver Shipyard consortium was selected by
our current government to
build the $8-billion non-combat vessel work package
(8 ships which includes a Polar Ice Breaker, 2-3 massive frigates, a few Fisheries Ocean vessels and Science vessel).
So, they in turn, along with Irving (who was handed a $25 billion package to build combat vessels) put on a day we shared with
+/- 330 people for information and to get possible work from/through.. Exciting times for Canada who finally
recognizes the importance of a Navy and the mass of water
which surrounds us!!

I did not carry a camera with me during the day, but thankfully
I did have the good 'ol iPhone with me up on the 19th floor
for the reception afterwards to capture a few shots of that
gorgeous city:) The skies were amazing, with dark clouds
and light spots and sun shining off and on throughout the aft!

It really is a gorgeous city..
just sucks to have to fight traffic to get there!
