Track and Field Day 2012

WHAT A DAY!!

Secondary T&F means all 3 kids involved from this household!

They all did VERY well!

Gave it 110% effort and it paid off for each one:)

Two highlights this year were the additional

competitions held for the first time ever..

There was a Triathlon where

one male and one female could compete from each

grade (8-12)... as well as the Strong Person

Competition where however many wanted to

(both females and males), could compete 

from each grade..

Kurt and Courtney both won

FIRST PLACE

IN THE TRIATHLON!

It involved running the track twice (800m),

then biking 2 kilometers,

then climbing the rope twice..

It was exhausting and challenging to say the least!!

All I hear is.. 'This bike HAULS!!! I should get one like this!!'

Kurt was fortunate enough to borrow his boss' bike,

and Courtney used it as well:)

Courtney spanked the competition in Rope Climbing!

Has the technique down to a 'T'..

As did Kurt - makes 100% of a difference!

Kurt was the ONLY male to even be able to

climb it twice.. and he did it fast too!!

While Kurt was recuperating,

Janae was off to the Standing Long Jump..

Because there are only 6 girls in her class,

Janae went over and above the typical participation levels

just to try and give their class a chance..

Took a nice lead to finish that as 1st:)

First thing they had to do in the Strong Person Competition

was pull a truck:)

Kurt did it ON HIS SOCKS!!

Part 2 was carry 5 fifty pound bags of sand across a course..

Part 3 was flipping this tire 7 times..

He is now officially the Strongest Person at TCS!

(at least on record for T&F..lol)

Courtney AND Janae did the 800m relay...

Janae also did the 800m Individual

and beat her own personal best time!

What a day, I once again say!!

It was tiring just to watch them!!

What a successful day.. as a parent, it isn't even

the medals and 'firsts' they get that is the rewarding part..

it is the sheer determination and effort they put in

that gets you proud.. that's what I found anyways!
We are very happy for them!

Over the past weekend..

..there was some noise at our house:)

Obviously because Kat was over.. lol.. but

more so because Nathan took Tom for a burn

in the Coupe. Man, that sucker is LOUD!

We spent a few hours cleaning out our pool and
with it full now, we are hoping for some HEAT!!
