Haiti-Part 4

Jerusalem 'streets':

Back at the church getting ready for
food distribution:

Playing with the kids:

We fed 120 kids that day!!

Somewhere in the middle of that
is Eric showing the kids a picture
on his phone:)

3 guys per bike is a bit ridiculous:

Pastor Diecon and his family:

The house Courtney and crew
were working on:

The women walked for miles with
loaded pails on their head..uphill...

These 2 girls were the children
of the widow who was moving into the house:)

Mackenzie and another guide we had
all weekend. He is also a bodyguard..

Haiti-Part 3

Saturday we spent in Jerusalem; after the quake
5 years ago, 1.4 million people moved on to the side
of the mountain and lived in makeshift tents in a refugee
camp.  We built two homes for families that day!

The church:

Walking to the job site:

We split into 2 groups and
each built a house..

This is the second boy of the family
we built for:

You can tell how poor the people are
based on their dog.... this says enough.

Mom was washing her hair while we worked;
behind her is their 'old house'

Lots of neighbours came and watched;
they were jealous and asked if we could
come to them to and build:(

She did the laundry like this too..
always working.. all day..

Haiti Trip-Part 2

Right after unloading all the luggage at the Kruls,
we went to a Baptist Mission up on the mountainside
outside of PAP.  We ate lunch while overlooking
the farmers working on the opposite side of the valley.
There were lots of street vendors trying to sell
us souvenirs on the street; there were paintings, machetes,
carvings, pottery, etc to purchase.
