Go SPAIN Go!

Thankfully the weather was better for Courtney's game
this Monday night than it has been since!!
She LOVES her soccer.. and is good at it too!
They just spanked England:)

She's just waiting for the opportunity to sneak that ball in:)

Reality check

Every once in a while in life, you really get a glimpse of
 'WOW.. time flies!'
Last night, we had a Gr. 11&12 Parent/Grandparent
Fundraising Dinner at the Church Hall..
The place was packed!
And you should see these 'kids' - the guys
are brutes! and the 'girls' are ladies!!
Kurt is walking around all spiffy in his Sunday
clothes and it is like..
WOW.. time flies..
It wasn't long ago and he was hip level,
now I have to look up to him and he has the
build of a man.. It's a beautiful time in his life, and I love
it as a parent, but there is this 'freaking out' aspect of
kids getting old & independent and like, 'where do I fit in'
as a parent suddenly? Thankfully.. it is a day
at a time transition:)
When we came back from Mexico last week, there was
this awesome craft made for us by the girls at a
Youth Night..
Man, time flies was once again reinforced...

Janae found some old pictures in a box and
decorated the craft with them:)

She is so happy to see me in the morning:)

Love our dog:)
Every time the window opens in the bathroom,
Aneira comes to say 'hi'..
(Hence, no screen:)
AND
Every time I look at her and then to Nathan
and ask.. 'How can you say NO to her?',
 his response ALWAYS is..
"no"... :)

The annual Plowing Match behind our place..

Wow..what a Saturday..

..absolutely sucks compared to last Saturday, but hey.. we have a lot to be thankful for!
Everyone was safe, happy and healthy on our arrival home late Thursday, and since Friday was a full day of work catching up on the important things like payroll, gov't remittances, entering info, replying to emails, organizing offices and work places, Choir Performance at night, etc etc, today is the clean/organize house/loads of laundry/get groceries day.. WOWsers.. busy day!!
We ran out of Internet time before I could post the Outdoor Adventure pics,
so I thought I'd throw a few on now..
Unfortunately the photographer didn't really capture
the height and length aspect of the various challenges.
The cliff we are rappelling on is 98 feet high, the longest
zipline is 1600 ft long, and such like.. pretty extreme course..
It was freaking out a few times for me!!

 Buddy called him 'macho man':)

I think Kat was a little freakin' out here too:)

Few more random pics..

..before heading out on the Outdoor Zipline Adventure;
sounds a little freaky! Rock climbing, hanging bridges,
crazy ladder, tarzan swing, zip lines and a 98 ft rappel..

This woman was an awesome cook!
Their chicken dish traditionally has everything from chocolate, sesame seeds,
cookies, 10 kinds of hot peppers, nuts, etc etc.. Delicious!
They grind their corn into powder by hand, add water to make a paste,
throw that in a tortilla press, bang - whip it on the hot plate..
Pots of rice, beef & veggies, egg with prickly pear cactus, sauces..
VERY flavorful lunch we had there!

Because Cabo is safer than Mazatlan, the cruise ships all come up here instead..
Daily views of cruise ships from the resort..

"talk" to you later!

Quick summary of our Tuesday so far:)

We started the day out with a trip into the desert..
we took the Mercedes Unimogs in further
after getting off the tour bus.  The cactus and
flora and fauna here is unreal!
Plants that are 280 years old approximately!
The camels were SO CUTE!!
We even got kisses from them:)
We were on the alpha male, and Tom and Katrina
on one further ahead.. They certainly have minds of their own!
After some authentic Mexican (delicious) food, we
had some delicious tequila tasting, and headed back out to civilization..
This afternoon, we hopped on a banana boat behind
a motor boat, and got tossed off off that a few times:)
Some serious wakes and waves out this aft with all the
wind and boat traffic - all good though!
Definitely worth our $9 pp:)
Going out soon again now for food, so here a few quick
pics for you all..
xoxoxo

MORE PICS TO FOLLOW - IN A HURRY NOW:)

And today we went scuba diving:)

It was wonderful birthday (so far) for Nathan:)
We went out to Lover's Beach, close to the Arch,
and had a lovely time scuba diving!!
Way more fish than when we went in Puerto Vallarta last year,
and the visibility was much better as well..
I must say their 'certification' was a disaster;
we would never recommend this company for first-time divers..
We spent about an hour shopping in the flea market
next to the marina.. incredible amount of merchandise
to be had there..
On the way home, we went in little carts behind
a peddle bike - poor guys were sweating like crazy! Felt bad for
them, but they probably earned more in that 10 minutes
than others do in a whole day:)
Tonight we hope to go for dinner in town at Romeo & Juliet.

Happy Saturday to you all!

It was another GORGEOUS day today..
We took a glass-bottomed boat to the Arc for only $8 pp!!
So cheap and very worthwhile! It was stunning.. the Pacific
Ocean meeting the Sea of Cortez on the southernmost tip
of the peninsula.  There were sea lions and lots of colorful
fish to be seen as well.
On Monday, we have scuba diving booked.  Tuesday is the
Outback & Camel Safari, and Wednesday we hope to Outdoor Zipline Adventure.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo
