you make Tyler pee by the slough! LOL

Cat update:

Darling feline who is terrified of leaving

the laundry room..

Purrs like CRAZY for us, but

will not venture out.. favourite place

to lounge is up on top of the cabinets!

Puppy update:

VERY SAD to have a puppy die overnight.

We think Aneira laid on him or somehow

pinned and suffocated him:-/

Nathan went out this aft and made a BIGGER

and BETTER pen for them all:)

Hopefully nothing like that happens again!!

All 3 colours cuddling one another:)

We are very pleased-

1. That they are cleaning out the slough FINALLY!

Cheers to some good canoeing conditions from now on:)

2. That we adopted a cat to replace our Romi!

She was a stray that some lady took in for the past month,

but since she already had two of her own cats in her

little basement suite, she decided to let this one go..

APPARENTLY, she is cuddly and friendly and a real

people person-we have seen nothing of that yet:-/

All we've seen is terrified, anxious, anti-social!

She purrs when you pet her, but stays in a corner in

the laundry room without using her litter box, eating

or drinking so far.. hope she adjusts!  I'm thinking

rehoming an adult cat is much more difficult than

a kitten at this point of the game...

As to a name, we haven't decided yet...

They called her GRAY, which I immediately

changed to GRIS(grease) which

is 'gray' in French.. it might've been grijze gerrit

if it was a male, but...

She looks a LOT like Romi-except gray!

She has very pretty eyes,

but as soon as the camera flashed,

she squinted:)

What a child..

..apparently when your shoe lace snaps at work,

this is what you do:)

Must say, he did a really nice job though on improvisation!!

Over the past year or two,

I have had pairs of jeans come into

the laundry with a

bungee strap as a belt, baler twine

and wire to hold his pants up..

Guess at the farm everything has more than

one purpose:)

Nothing like a sunrise

to start the day in humility and awe:)

A lady on each side of said tree with a 'SLOW'

sign, and two guys standing nearby to fill

up the chain saw when needed, and one

guy working in the bucket truck..

Sure glad my hubby doesn't run the business

like the City does:)

Will be lovely to have our side of the slough

cleaned up tho!!

The newborns..

..are a source of much pleasure and create quite

the stir around here!

I haven't had a 'normal' nights sleep since they were born..

I wake up every night between 3:30 and 5 when I

hear the coyotes in the corn behind our place; I freak out

they are going to come into our yard somehow..

After Romi presumably met her demise through these

critters and our neighbour warning us to keep an

eye on these pups for the coyotes will smell them

from a mile away, I haven't been

able to sleep very well:(   Dumb, yes, but...

Had serious energy this morning..looked like a frisky

pup herself yet!  Had a 'HEY, they're all sleeping

We have had the most lovely weather

the past few weeks..

Last Saturday, we played on a softball team

in a tournament for Word & Deed;

other than getting heat stroke because of the

30plus degree weather, it was a superb day to be out there!

Other updates:

*Aneira is due next week, so is very plump and pregnant!

No more 'runs' with her..more like slow waddles down the road:)

*Romi has been missing for 2 days now..

too early to tell if she is possibly out with the boys

or no longer a pet of ours:-/

*We are replacing a lift pump in our holding tank in

the front yard to prevent issues with the septic system..

*House still up for sale, with no offers as of now..

LOVE the nature and atmosphere and smells here!

Only unfortunate part is, so did a LOT of other people:)

We are used to only meeting a few people

on the trail, but I guess everyone and their dog

thought it a good day to go as well:)
