Really lovin' the last few phone calls!

WOW!

Really cool..
I came home a few days ago, and there was a voice mail;
my name was picked out of the draw at Ruth,
and I won a very cool gift with some
Watkins cinnamon, peppermint extract, and almond extract!
SWEET!!
Just in time for the fundraiser baking
which involves boterkoek among other recipes:)
So that comes in very handy!
What is funny is.. I won it last year as well!!
(The girls promptly told me they think it is 'rigged'..)

Yesterday, my cell rings.. KENT OUTDOORS?
"Hey, Carla! Your name was drawn for the
nice VORTEX Diamondback binoculars."
SSSEEEWWWEEEETTTTT!
Now to be fair, although my name was on the draw
(since it was my PAL used)
(one entry per gun or scope purchase),
it was Kurt's monies and it is Kurt's toy..
Yes, it funnelled from his account to my account
and then through my MasterCard to Kent's..

(you HAVE TO put all significant purchases on the MasterCard)
(in order to collect as many Air Miles as possible in this household:)
(Air Miles translates into 'Mexico':)

it should still be Kurt's prize..
However, my twisted sense of humour told
me to wrap it, and put it on the pile of presents
which we hope to open New Year's Eve...!!
Now if all of you can be quiet, and nothing is mentioned to Kurt,
(he is a male.. he would never look at a blog!)
(even if it is his Mother's...)
he won't know until we tell him AFTER he unwraps his
cool present with a nifty $299.99 tag still on it,
that it was indeed 'priceless'!!!!

Check out the haul!

It comes with a nice molded case,
a strap and lens covers...
and a little pamphlet which humoured me even more!!

Starts off with 'Congratulations on your purchase of a
Diamondback binocular blah blah blah..'
NOPE! no purchase here.. hahaha:)

Continues a little further on with 'CAUTION:
Binoculars are not intended for looking at the sun'..
YOU DON'T SAY....
PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO THAT???

Then, after reading about 'color fidelity' and
'argon gas purging' and 'roof prism binoculars',
I got to the 'Very Important Promise to you -
a Very Important Person. That's why we call it the VIP warranty'
part and decided I should just
start baking with the Watkins products instead..
