.. I am busy today preparing their room, wiping kitchen cabinets, doing all the laundry, washing their bedding, cleaning bathrooms, etc..
I had a window washer lined up at 9 a.m. this morning, and seeing it was 10 already, and he was a 'no-show', I decided to give him a call and see if there was an issue.
(Buddy is the result of a Groupon purchase, and based on a few calls to line this up and one postponement, I was a little on the leery side. It doesn't help that he is of another ethnic background and VERY hard to follow on the phone - little shady sums it up as my gut feeling..)
Back to my recent phone call..
He was going on and on about 'Promontory' and 'having black eyes' and I was having a really hard time trying to figure out why having a 'black eye up in Promontory' had anything to do with him not washing my windows as was planned..!!
The only thing I gathered from the call was it would be an hour and a half or two before he was able to come and he was VERY sorry..
About 5 minutes after hanging up, I clued in..
OH!
There is BLACK ICE up on Promontory!!
Now THAT makes sense... There are a few icy spots left on our deck too...
'heh heh' - why didn't he just say that??
I thought your Mom was the window washer!

She still will be apparently!! The guy just left and that after my telling him to do it over.. you don't stand 6 feet under a window with a little brush on a pole, spray it off with the hose, and call it 'good'...sorry! you better get your ladder out and get rid of all those water spots, because this won't fly:) I have a certain Dutch standard as to what is 'clean' and what is worth what I paid for it!!:)
