One thing that carried over from yesterday into today is..

...the SMELL in this house...
NASTY!

Last night, right before supper, Janae and I quickly
whipped up a recipe of Butterscotch Chip Oatmeal Cookies,
since the baking pile seems to deplete at a rapid rate
with our visitors.
The girls were going skating from 6:15-7:45, and in the
rush of them eating and Nathan coming home
from work and Mom and Dad
leaving for their dinner plans etc., somehow, the last
cookie sheet of cookies never made it out of the oven..
I think you know where this is going....:(
After picking up Janae's friend, and bringing them and Courtney
to the skating rink,
and fuelling up the car, I came home to Nathan in the shower,
Kurt on the laptop, and a terrible stench which I knew
would linger for days.
The cloud of smoke that came out of the oven when
I opened the door was unlike I've ever seen yet..
Regardless of opening the patio door, all the windows,
andrunning around with a Febreze bottle,
the stench is still here this morning.
The last time I did something that dumb in the kitchen was
when I was pregnant with one of the kids and left the water
on while running to 'quick' do a load of laundry,
then got side tracked to clean
the bathroom, and came back to a very wet kitchen floor..
we are talking about 15 years ago!
Oh well.. I'm hoping that with age my parent's olfactory
system has declined in strength and ability and they
won't notice all their clothes have a burnt
butterscotch smell on them:)

The moon was gorgeous last night again!
Too bad we never had the camera when we went to pick
the girls up in town after skating..
the silhouette of the 'Saddle' and the cloud
pattern was amazing!

What a dear neighbour;
chatting it up with the kids at the bus stop this morning:)
He called yesterday all concerned that someone
was possibly ill at our house - he seen Nathan's truck home
during the day Wednesday (Prayer Day) off and on and since
that NEVER happens, he thought something must be wrong!
And he asked how we liked the home made yogurt
he fired over the fence the other day..
My Mom is even using the 'you have awesome neighbours
that aren't replaceable' argument in her list of reasons why
we aren't allowed to move:)
