What an awesome surprise!!

There was a bit of conniving and sneakiness going on

around here Saturday morning.. 

Nathan was checking his

phone often, and Janae was whispering to him

repeatedly.  Not too concerned,

(seeing it was present opening that night),

we just continued on with our

grape pruning and lawn mowing..

(yes, you read that right! we mowed the front

lawn on Saturday-the last day of the year!!)

When Courtney asked to be involved in

the scheming, she was denied..

We really started questioning

what was going on then! All-of-a-sudden at 2:00,

Mak and Janae announced they had to leave for

a while.. We fired questions galore,

but we were stonewalled:(

When they left with the truck, we thought,

'man, it must be something big!'

We had all kinds of ideas, but none seemed likely..

An hour later, Janae walked in all

excited, saying "close your eyes and hold out

your hands!"

GUESS WHAT IT WAS!!!!

Now for those of you who don't know Nathan very well,

this is HUGE!  We've been asking for years!!

It was always a resonate 'NO'..

He detests animals in the house, first of all,

and it took a lot of reason and persuasion

to get Aneira, who is an outside dog:)

So, in honour of his kindness and sacrificing his own

wants for us females,

we named the kitten after his own heart..

ROMI (raw-mee)

This is a company started in Brazil,

which manufactures machine tools, CNC lathes,

and machining centres..

A very applicable name for a machinist's cat, no?

When Kurt got home from work,

he showered and came upstairs like this...

Only thing we heard was

"PEST CONTROL!"

(we think he is the pest in this situation..getting a 'rise' out of his sisters again;)
